  • Profile

Brandon Shulleeta has more than 15 years of journalism experience and has written more than 2,500 published articles as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Reuters, and other news organizations. His beats included courts and crime, breaking news, and local government. He has won several statewide and national awards for investigative reporting, data journalism, general news writing, and others.

His reporting has uncovered secret lobbying by the Catholic Church to block lawsuits from victims of child molestation; incompetencies from Tropical Smoothie that led to a hepatitis breakout; and a Social Security administrative law judge who routinely denied benefits to disabled people while refusing testimony from their physicians.

As a journalism professor and editor of in-depth articles for the University of South Carolina's journalism capstone program, Shulleeta helped guide students to several first-place awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.
